Unbelievable! The kids are out of school again! I am not sure how many days they have been out since the first of the year but it seems like more than they have been in. So we got a couple of inches of snow last night which pretty much shut down middle Tennessee. I know you northerners are thinking whats the big deal? But here in Tennessee we 1. Have wet snow so that when it freezes overnight it is not only snowy but also icy. 2. We live in the foothills of Tennessee, thus lots of hills! Hills and icy roads do not go good together. 3. Since we don't get much snow here, normally, we don't have a lot of resources like snow plows, salt trucks, etc to keep our roads clear. We have some and eventually roads are cleared but the interstates are the main focus and then they try to hit the back roads. 4. We are country so we have a lot of backwoods type areas and not as many subdivision type areas, people are spread out so it just takes longer to get all the roads cleared. But all this just makes snow days a lot funner for my kids who know that if there is a chance of snow they will probably be out of school!
